Frequently Asked Questions:
What are your procedures for handling COVID-19?
We are in the process of updating our COVID-19 policies for the upcoming 23/24 school year. These policies will be based upon the recent update from the NH Dept of Education and the Governor's Office on the opening of schools. Please look for updated information before the school year starts.

How much of the curriculum is spent on religious instruction?
We love to begin the first 15 minutes of our day gathered together to praise God in song, give thanks for our blessings, and talk about a spiritual thought or a character value as taught us from the Bible. We always love to start our day with prayer. Christian values and object lessons are naturally interwoven throughout the day, with a short comment or question. In the afternoon, we gather together for a 35 minute Bible instruction time. This is a special time of relating Bible Stories, and the Life of Christ in a personal and practical way. Students participate in fun activities and reflections.
What is your homework policy?
At Pioneer Junior Academy we believe time at home with family is a priority. Nightly homework will not be assigned. We encourage students to play outside and enjoy family time in the evenings. Students are given weekly spelling words and a memory verse that they are responsible for practicing outside of school hours. If students do not complete assigned tasks/learning activities during school hours they are responsible for finishing these assignments in the evening.
Is recess offered? What type of exercise programs do you have?
We believe play and exercise are key to children’s success in the classroom. We have two periods of time each day for these activities. A 15-minute recess in the morning and a 30-minute PE class after lunch. Pioneer Junior Academy provides non-competitive sports and exercise opportunities. During the winter months we offer skiing lessons. From our experience, students are better able to focus and stay on task effectively when they have plenty of time to exercise and play.
What are the school hours?
For grades 1-8 our school hours are as follows:
— Monday-Thursday: begins at 8 a.m. and dismisses at 3 p.m.
— Friday: begins at 8 a.m. and dismisses at 1 p.m.
